This year’s Ophthalmology Star Awards (OSA) was announced at our satellite symposium at ESCRS 2022. Ophthalmologists are awarded upon their scientific works
1st place winners are: Dr. Sandra R. Montezuma and Dr. So Goto with two seperate papers:
- Clinical Study Title of Dr. Sandra R. Montezuma: No association between cataract surgery and mitochondrial DNA damage with age-related macular degeneration in human donor eyes.
- Clinical Study Title of Dr. So Goto: Preliminary demonstration of a novel IOL power calculation: The O formula
2nd place winner: Dr. Nazrul Islam
Clinical Study Title: Multilevel Deep Feature Generation Framework for Automated Detection of Retinal Abnormalities Using OCT Images
3rd place winner: Dr. Leonardo Mastropasqua
Clinical Study Title: Transcriptomic analysis revealed increased expression of genes involved in keratinization in the tears of COVID‑19 patients
